Scrooms Quest Guide

Follow the documented SCROOMS quest order from Leo to later regions, keep exact hand-in items, and recover when a tracker stops advancing.

The safest SCROOMS quest route is objective → action → return conversation → reward check. Many apparent blockers happen because a player completes the action but leaves before the NPC finishes the quest. Follow the opening order below, then use the live Quest Log to choose later tasks.

Opening route from Leo to Bluestone

  1. Getting Started! Talk to Leo near the Grove spawn and accept the Wooden Lute. Equip it, catch one Scroom, and return to Leo. Confirm the quest completes before selling.
  2. Sale and Guitar tutorial. Go to the merchant stall, sell the intended catch, buy the requested Tamer’s Guitar, open Equipment Bag → Instruments, press Equip, close the bag, and return as directed.
  3. The Next Step. Find Halden on a log by the campfire and red tents. Accept his task, interact with five Weathered Statues, return at 5/5, and accept the Ocarina.
  4. Tamer in Training. Continue the main progression and reach the requirement shown by the quest. Current launch walkthroughs report level 25. Return to Halden after reaching it.
  5. A Leg Up. Follow Halden’s direction to Shax in a raised, purple-toned part of the Grove. Speak to Shax and enter his race area.
  6. Quick on Your Feet. Win the race, speak to Shax again, and claim Songtreads. Confirm the Songwalker badge or reward card.
  7. Beyond the Grove. Activate the boots, follow Bluestone Approach, use a running jump over the entrance gap, and land inside Bluestone Caverns.

If your Quest Log gives a different level, name, or count, follow the live value. The route purpose is more stable than an update-sensitive number.

First Bluestone hand-in

Current guides place Marina near the entrance landing, beside a wooden table and wearing a yellow hard hat. New Ground asks for a Fungstone. Catch one in the Caverns and do not sell it.

Open the backpack, sort by Recent if necessary, select the Fungstone tile, and confirm your avatar is holding the named creature. Talk to Marina, choose the hand-over response, and finish the dialogue. A filled tracker is not the same as the completed return.

This pattern applies widely: when an objective names a species or prefix, keep the exact catch available. If it says Runic, Harmonic, Wondrous, or another qualifier, a plain or different-tier creature may not count.

Grove side quests worth recognizing

Elanor’s questline is associated with the Floral Flute in current community directories. Fenna’s route develops into Mantle of the Songkeeper, a chain involving Grove collection progress, a Koroom, the Heart of Thorns rose, and an offering. The official Mantle Bearer badge confirms the named completion, while the live Quest Log should decide every condition.

Jones is associated with the Grove’s beekeeper area, which is also used as a landmark for a statue and Funglebee reports. Oswald and other Grove NPCs can remain inactive until the relevant level or prior task. Do not assume every visible NPC must be completed before the main Halden route.

Later named progression

In Bluestone, current quest lists name tasks involving Marina, Marcus, Arabella, Pell, Bram, Rusk, Toma, and others. These include creature deliveries, marked-stone interactions, a machine response, and the Deepchord path. Use the current objective rather than trying to complete every published name in one visit.

Sorin’s Respite routes include The Scratched Score, linked in current walkthroughs to learning Song of Passage. Use the Ocarina’s Known Songs panel and the displayed input sequence at the intended marked gate. A correct melody at the wrong obstacle will not open a dynamite wall or solve a platform gap.

Sanctum Magus progression includes a community-documented Iblis route leading to The Magus’ Requiem. Because it uses exact Runic catches, a payment, keys, and a return, check each objective before moving to the next stage. The official badge confirms the quest accomplishment, not every community-reported cost.

Recovery by symptom

Bought but not equipped

Press Equip on the instrument card, then close the bag. Both can be separate objectives.

Reached the level

Return to the quest giver. A threshold can unlock dialogue without automatically completing the task.

Counter is full

Read whether the objective now says return, deliver, or speak. Finish the NPC conversation.

Creature rejected

Check base name, prefix, rarity, and held status. Index discovery alone does not satisfy delivery.

Race won, no reward

Talk to Shax again and continue through the reward card.

Song did nothing

Select the correct Known Song, stand at the matching obstacle, and use the sequence displayed by your current interface.

Protect progress before selling

Read the active objective before using Sell Inventory. Keep named creatures and special prefixes. If you are unsure, sell held common catches individually and leave quest candidates in the bag. There is no verified sale-undo route.

Also keep enough Chimes for visible quest payments. Public values can change, so make the current prompt your budget target and add a reserve for the instrument you intend to equip afterward.

FAQ

How many quests are in SCROOMS?

One current community list documents 50 known quests across areas, but that is not an official permanent count. Events and updates can add, remove, or rename tasks.

Where should I go after the Ocarina?

Follow the Halden training objective, reach its current requirement, return to him, then follow the Shax race chain for Songtreads and Bluestone access.

Why will Marina not take my Fungstone?

Confirm the New Ground objective is active, select the Fungstone in your backpack so it is held, then speak to her and finish the hand-over dialogue.
