The useful SCROOMS map is a progression route: Songkeeper’s Grove → Bluestone Approach → Bluestone Caverns, followed by later regions named in the live Quest Log and Index. Public sources do not provide a stable official overhead map with coordinates, so this guide uses unlocks and landmarks instead of pretending that an unverified drawing is exact.
Official badges support Index regions named Songkeeper’s Grove, Bluestone Caverns, Sorin’s Respite, Sanctum Magus, and Tall Trees. Current community Index lists also use Grave of the Gilded; keep that label separate unless your live game explicitly connects it with Tall Trees.
Route 1: Songkeeper’s Grove
This is the starting region and the safest place to learn the game. Leo’s camp anchors the tutorial and Wooden Lute. Halden’s campfire anchors the Ocarina progression. Five weathered statues are spread along Grove routes for The Next Step, and the larger final statue accepts the learned sequence.
Shax occupies a raised, darker Grove section in current walkthroughs and sends players to a separate race area. Winning the first race and finishing the post-race conversation awards Songtreads. The path toward blue-gray stone and colder terrain leads out through Bluestone Approach.
Use the Songkeeper’s Grove guide for those landmarks and the Quest Guide if one NPC will not advance.
Route 2: Bluestone Approach
Bluestone Approach is the transition rather than a documented full Index region. Its important landmark is a wide gap before the cave. Equip Songtreads, back up, run straight, and jump at full speed from the edge.
Current route guides agree that the first Songtreads reward is enough for this crossing. Echo Step is described as a later movement improvement and should not be required. If the jump fails, reselect the boots, look for the active movement effect, lengthen the run-up, and delay the jump until the edge.
Route 3: Bluestone Caverns
Landing across the gap enters the cavern region and advances the reported Beyond the Grove step. Marina is the first important NPC in current routes. Read her objective before selling a local catch; current walkthroughs report that she requests a Fungstone.
Use the entrance as your first orientation point. Open the Index to confirm the Bluestone page, learn the nearest safe path, and catch within your instrument’s current frequency reach. The official Quarryhand badge confirms a Bluestone Index completion goal, but it does not publish every spawn position.
The Bluestone Caverns guide covers the crossing and first objective in detail.
Later region labels
Sorin’s Respite has the official Keeper of the Garden Index badge. Sanctum Magus has the official Archivist badge. Tall Trees has the official Treeline Wanderer badge. Those names are reliable public evidence that the regions or their Index categories exist.
Community lists currently group known species under Sorin’s Respite, Sanctum Magus, and Grave of the Gilded, while an official badge says Tall Trees. This guide does not collapse the last two into one location without a clear in-game mapping. When your quest reaches a later region, use its current text and Index label rather than an older route name.
Landmark method
Track three landmarks at a time: the NPC you left, the terrain transition ahead, and the nearest path back. For example, in the early route those can be Halden’s campfire, the statue path, and Leo’s starting side; later they can be Shax’s raised section, Bluestone Approach, and the Grove exit.
After a teleport, race, or reset, reopen the Quest Log and reselect the objective. Walk from the last confirmed landmark rather than following a marker directly through a wall or cliff. A compass line can indicate destination direction without describing the actual trail.
Match the barrier to the tool
For musical statues, equip the Ocarina and reproduce the learned note sequence. For the Bluestone gap, equip Songtreads and build running speed. For a Scroom frequency beyond your instrument, change catching tools. For a hidden Index tab, complete the region entrance and walk far enough for discovery.
These systems are separate. Owning the Ocarina does not improve normal catch reach, and Songtreads do not tune a target. Identifying the barrier prevents searching for a shortcut that the current progression does not support.
Recover a lost route
If an NPC has no dialogue, verify the previous reward was claimed and the live level or catch condition is complete. If a route is physically open but the quest does not update, return to the preceding NPC and finish all prompts. If an Index tab remains locked, cross fully into the area and speak with its introduction NPC.
If a guide’s area or NPC label differs, compare its date with the live text. Use official badges for stable region names, community sources for route details, and the current server for the final instruction.
What this map does not claim
It does not assign unsupported coordinates, exact travel times, spawn percentages, or an unconfirmed fast-travel network. It also does not place every later species into Tall Trees or Grave of the Gilded when public sources conflict. The Scroomdex marks the same uncertainty.
